About Dorothy Goldeen

Dorothy established Dorothy Goldeen Art Advisory in 1996 following twenty-three years as a gallery owner and director in San Francisco and Los Angeles. She specializes in advising private collectors in building their collections of modern and contemporary art. Based in Santa Monica, Dorothy travels continuously to acquire artwork and gain insight. From Beijing to Dubai,
across the U.S. and Europe, Dorothy maintains the highest level of exposure to the constantly evolving art scene.

 

Dorothy began her professional career in 1973 in San Francisco with the Hansen Fuller Gallery which later became Fuller Goldeen Gallery. In 1987, Dorothy relocated to Los Angeles and opened the Dorothy Goldeen Gallery. The exhibition program included internationally renowned artists such as Nam June Paik and Beatriz Milhazes. Dorothy pioneered the early careers of many
artists such as Jennifer Steinkamp and Russell Crotty, who have subsequently achieved 
widespread acclaim.

Dorothy is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where she majored in sculpture. She has been a guest speaker on the arts since 1975. She has built numerous private collections, mounted more than 200 exhibitions of contemporary art and established working relationships with hundreds of artists, collectors and art world professionals.
